CREATIVE TECH In the News
In the world of creative management, the only constant is change. Just when you’ve mastered a platform, Asana drops new automations, Notion reinvents its database views, or ClickUp releases a feature that changes the game. Keeping up isn’t just optional—it’s essential to stay ahead of the curve. I love diving deep into those updates, exploring the latest tools, and uncovering hidden gems—and even more, I love sharing those insights with you. In this section, you’ll find announcements in creative tech, along with my personal takeaways from hands-on experience.
Figma Config🧩 was on May 6th, and they had a lot to share, check it out:
- *NEW* FIGMA SITES: Design, prototype, and publish fully responsive, websites—all within Figma. 🔥
- *NEW* FIGMA MAKE: Start with a design and prompt your way to a functional prototype to make it real, fast. 🦾
- *NEW* FIGMA BUZZ: Create assets for social media, display ads, emails, and more from already established brand assets. Target users: Marketing Managers requiring other forms of deliverables without actually designing them. (Literally watched a demo of a data spreadsheet uploaded directly to the creative file, and it did a step and repeat on its own with unique data in seconds. 🤯)
Figma has maintained its stronghold by gaining traction in the creative community and appears not to be slowing down anytime soon.
Managers - If you don't consider yourself to be a Figma user, beyond commenting and reviewing files, Figma Buzz and their soon-to-launch "Figma Content User" plan may be of the most interest to you. Think budget adjustments for FY26, with a content user plan, this should be slightly cheaper than the standard professional plan.
Notion Mail 📨
"Powered by AI, you can connect your Google Gmail (only at this time) to Notion Mail. Select prompts which will allow your inbox to self-organize how you want it it to. Draft emails and schedule meetings."
- I'm currently testing it, and my early thoughts are: it does help visually having coloured labels which stand out.
- It's not perfect, as per my screenshot below, I added the ❌'s and ✅'s to show the accuracy at the early stage. For my "Account Notifications" label -how a promo email for chafing and 🍑 sweat from a place I've yet to order from has been tagged here is strange. However good thing, I can correct it in Notion, and it will remember this behaviour moving forward.
- Unfortunate downside, does not appear to be retroactive (ex., blogto on May 17th was labelled "News Update" , while not on the 16th). My current inbox count would have really appreciated this feature being retroactive. #sendhelp
- Early label accuracy count results: 50/50. With time I expect that number to increase, I will keep you posted.

Tool Shoutout This Week- TidyCal
TidyCal 🗓️- For Scheduling Meetings
When I could no longer connect Calendly to my Apple Calendar, I went in search of an alternative. I found TidyCal for organizing and setting up meetings via a call link. I consider it an upgrade for a better deal in comparison!

My hope is for anyone who works with these tools to share their experience, advice, and absolutely nots - and I share back with our community, featuring you and your thoughts!
